The Right Way to Give Chocolate for Valentine's Day

It is almost a clich about chocolate and Valentine's Day. Heart shaped boxed filled with chocolate candies line the shelves of every store from gas stations to major department stores. So how does a guy give chocolate to his leading lady without it looking like he fell into the old clich?

There are so many things that you can do to be creative with chocolate to impress your wife or girlfriend. One way would be to take her out for dinner at a fondue restaurant where they offer romantic dinners for couples with the dessert being a delicious chocolate fondue with scrumptious things to dip into it. Add a bottle of bubbly to the end of the meal with the dessert and you will be sure to score big points.

If you do not want to go that extravagant you can do u a delightful dinner at home and add in some chocolate covered strawberries for dessert while sipping her favorite cocktail by candlelight. Women love to be pampered and what better way to make her feel that way then to serve her a dinner that you cooked yourself complete with a mouthwatering chocolate dessert.

There are plenty of other chocolate gifts that you can get that are quite different then the usual heart shaped box of chocolates. There are decedent chocolate covered cookies that you can get for her. Make sure that you know what her favorite flower is and have a bouquet delivered with the unique chocolates and she will be swept off her feet. If you really want to add a personal touch to this scenario then hand deliver the whole package to her at work or where ever she may be that day.

Women appreciate the small things or the little things as some say. If you pay close attention to the things that she likes the most, you can make her have the most memorable Valentine's Day ever. What woman doesn't love chocolate? Just add a little flair to the chocolate that you choose to make it more special to her then the same old heart shaped box of chocolates. You can even order your own custom made M-n-M's with your own words printed right on them. That is a special treat for anyone to get. Just imagine the look on her face when she opens up the M-n-M's and sees that they all have her name and yours with some personal messages spelled out in the pieces of candy.

You can have a great Valentine's Day and not have to spend a fortune. Just be a little creative with what type of chocolate and flowers that you pick for your girlfriend or wife. You do not want to buy the same old gift that everyone else is buying.

Fade In/Out Unknown Phantom Child Costume

Includes Black robe, belt, gloves, hood with velcro closure for mouth opening, electronic Fade In/Fade out glasses for undermask. Available in Child sizes Small (4-6), Medium (8-10), and Large (12-14). Requires 3 "AA" Batteries (not included). Shoes and Toy sickle/scythe not included.
Customer Review: runs a little small
Generally, I liked the costume. The material was not flimsy and it was a fairly complete set. I just needed to buy the scythe. It does however run small. My son is a size 6 and I order the 8-10 size that barely fit him. The goggles are cool too, but they are somewhat flimsy. You have to be careful not to split the wires as they are very thin and unprotected.

Disneys Little Mermaid Ariel Deluxe Child Costume

Ariel Kids Costumes are Adorable Costumes for Children! Pick this Little Mermaid Disney Princess Ariel Costume this Halloween, and be the center of attention!!
Customer Review: Adorable, sizing runs small, terrible return process
This dress is absolutely adorable!! Too bad the sizes run REALLY small. I ordered a small (4-6), thinking that since my child wears a 4-5T we'd be in luck. Nope, the bodice is a bit snug, and the return process is such that I can't exchange it for a larger size. Costume Supercenter requires that all returns be completed within 10 days of shipping... (their shipping date) which actually meant that I had about TWO actual days of trying on > deciding whether to return > being out of luck. So, my daughter will be able to wear this dress for Halloween, and then never again because it's too snug. Not the optimal situation for spending $30 on a dress-up costume, but such is the situation. Although the outfit is very cute, and appears to be well-made, I will not be purchasing online from this vendor ever again. Customer service is important to me, and I will spend my hard-earned cash on vendors who deliver it.
Customer Review: Halloween made easy
I ordered this costume for my 5 1/2 year old at Halloween. I usually would not spend this kind of money on a costume but she saw it online and really wanted it. So, I figured, what the heck? Just once... Well, I had such a great experience that I probably will order from Amazon every year. The costume came very quickly and the quality was great. She wears it all the time for dress up!

Adult's Muscle Chest Batman Halloween Costume

Customer Review: Good costume
This costume with the muscle chest is great for the money. I chose to purchase a better mask and a pair of gloves because I plan to wear this for a few years. The only thing I didnt like is the ears on the mask, they are kind of floppy.A similar costume without the muscle chest looks more like adult pajamas.

Maverick 1 1/2 Inch Knee High Pirate Boot With Cuff Brown Halloween Costume Pleaser MENS SIZING

When you're deciding among newborn costumes, take a moment to think about whether you prefer a bunting -- which will cover those little feet on a cold evening -- or a dress or pants and shirt. The right answer depends on how cold it is where you live, what your baby tends to prefer, and what you tend to prefer.

The ideas for newborn costumes are without limit. Here are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

1. Baby Tomato: You can buy a costume or make one at home. If you choose to make one, get a red bunting or red pants and top. You can make seeds from felt and place them on the front of the tomato outfit. A little hat will top off the costume and look adorable at the same time. With green felt, you can make a stem and attach it to the red hat with a few moments of sewing.

2. Baby Super Girl or Super Boy: Use red knee high socks, a cape, and a light blue outfit to make this costume. With felt, you can cut out the letter "B" (for a boy) or the letter "G" (for a girl) and attach it to the chest of the costume with thread. The sewing is so easy even I could do it.

3. Baby Carrot: An orange bunting and cap make for an easy infant carrot costume. Use green felt to make leaves and attach them to the orange cap with thread. This is such an easy costume to make and will look cute at the same time.

Be sure to take a lot of photographs so you can share the memories with your little one when he or she grows up. Halloween offers a fun time to become someone or something different for an evening and to exercise our creativity whether we make or buy a costume.

Christmas table decorations can really bring about the holiday spirit into your home. Depending on the decoration that you choose the prices can vary greatly. The economy in today's times can make it hard to purchase the decorations that we would like to have. Well there is a great alternative to buying Christmas table decorations.

Have you ever thought about making your own decorations? This is something that you and the whole family can participate in and have a great time doing. You will find in this article a great idea for making your own Christmas decorations.

This decoration that can be crafted is Styrofoam snowmen. This is very simple to make and the materials needed are very cheap. The materials that you need are three styrofoam balls in sizes of 2 , 2 and 3 inch increments. You also need four toothpicks, small black pom poms, glue, ribbon and a piece of orange chenille stem. With the largest piece of styrofoam you want to take a knife and cut a flat surface for the snowman to stand up.

Next take one of the toothpicks and press into the top of the bottom ball. Once you have done this, take the mid-size ball and press onto the other half of the toothpick. With a second toothpick, press it a little more than half way into the mid-size ball.

Then place the smallest ball onto the other half of the toothpick. This will make the head portion of the snowman. Once we have done all of this we are half way done with our Christmas table decoration.

Once we have done all of this we can take the remaining two toothpicks and place them on either side of the snowman. This will represent the arms. Now we want to take the glue and the small black pom poms and place the eyes, buttons and mouth.

Now for the nose we will use the piece of orange chenille stem. The final piece of material that is to be used is the ribbon that will be glued around the nick. The will resemble the scarf that the snowman will wear.

Christmas table decorations are the perfect items to bring about the Christmas spirit into your home. Christmas is a wonderful time of the year and you should want to display your holiday spirit everywhere. This includes your table area.

With this one frugal idea, you can save tons of money while providing some quality time with the family as you construct these wonderful decorations.

How would you like to give the perfect gift with a success rate of close to 100%. A successful gift is always desired by both the person giving as well as the person receiving.

If you want something original, affordable and creative for the next birthday gift/present that will also be highly successful you may need to consider looking into whats new on the market.

One business type that appears to be developing at a fast rate is the digital photography market. (Excuse the pun) It seems everyone or close to every one these days has a digital camera of some description in his or her hip pocket posed to capture the memory for all occasions both organised and spontaneous. These are the moments that are truly special and have the greatest significance to the individual, quite simply because they are personal. Transforming those special moments into quality gifts is where you find the 100% success rate or damn close to it.

For example, why give a dog lover a canvas-framed picture for the wall, a bag or cushion with someone elses dog on it, when you can have their dog printed on the gift? The same goes for pictures of family /children / babies, scenery / holiday or sporting or hobbies, the list is endless.

The point is, people who receive a quality personal gift of something, someone or some moment-in-time they truly love, will treasure that gift for ever. And the bearer of that gift, well theres nothing quite like being the person who gave the best gift.

Valentines Day is adorned with numerous craft specialties. Handmade crafts infuse Valentines Day with a special color. Numerous easy-to-make craft ideas swarm the mind long before the advent of the day.

A simple and unique craft item could enrich the special bonds between two lovers. Valentines Day candles are a popular item in the craft bag collection. All one needs to do is melt some paraffin inside a can placed in a pan of hot water. One could then paste the melted paraffin over some construction paper cut out the shape of hearts. This could be glued to a candle and as a finishing touch a ribbon could be tied around the base of candle. A collage of special memoirs could comprise the craft theme for lovers on Valentines Day. It could be a collection of photographs, simple treasures like gift wrappers, old cards or any other special memory.

Crafts for Valentines Day also include special wall hangings. The main features of these wall hangings are heart-shaped paper designs and images of cupid with a bow and arrow. These wall hangings could also incorporate some special personalized messages. Another creative craft item for the day is a Valentines Day address book. A simple address book can be enwrapped in a decorated piece of fabric cloth. The edges of this could be stitched, and a red ribbon with a few heart-shaped trinkets can be tied around it. This gives the address book a perfect Valentines Day touch to it.

For children, a great Valentines Day craft idea is the making of a Valentines Day heart crown. This can be easily prepared from a paper plate and construction paper. As accessories, strings of hearts and beads could be attached to it. The exquisite crown would surely excite the children with a princely and fairytale touch on Valentines Day.

Another wonderful craft idea for children would be to fill an empty baby food jar with a cinnamon-sugar mixture and candies. The lid of this jar is covered with paper cupcake holders and red hearts that are placed on it. Happy Valentine's Day! is written on an address label that is stuck at the outside of the jar. Besides this, a fuzzy bear craft would keep the kids busy for Valentines Day.

There are many more crafts for Valentines Day. The list is unending. In short, any simple handwork could be transformed as a craftwork for Valentines Day. In an age where ready-made crafts and gifts are the order of the day, and time is a constraint, simple and unique handmade crafts could add that special touch of exclusivity to Valentines Day.

Valentines Day provides detailed information on Valentine's Day, Valentine's Day Gifts, Valentine's Day Gift Baskets, Valentine's Day Cards and more. Valentines Day is affiliated with Mexican Holidays.

Metallic Copper Fairy Pre-Teen Child Halloween Costume (14-16)

Includes: Dress, overskirt, and wings. Jewelry, stockings, and shoes not included. Available in Pre-Teen size 14-16.

In 1957, the release of the old Universal monster films to terrestrial television channels created a monster fad that never really subsided. This boom allowed some very popular movie monsters to become perennial Halloween screening favorites. Of course, this makes them perfect choices for Halloween masks....

Has there ever been a more popular character in film and literature than Dracula? From his debut in 1897 to the present day, Dracula remains a striking figure. This is why it is no surprise that Dracula masks and costumes are popular and among the top selling Halloween costumes for the past 50 years. Part of the reason for this is the sheer variety of Dracula style costumes. First, there is the classic Dracula image that we are most familiar from the old movies. This is obviously the most popular of the costumes, but there are many other spins on the classic Dracula costume out there as well. For example, did you know that there are historical Dracula costumes that are based on Vlad Tepes? Or, that there are "re-fashioned" costumes that bring Dracula apparel into the 21st century? Then, if you want to really scare people you might opt for a Nosferatu style feral Dracula. If you want people to laugh then you could stick with a costume based on The Count from Sesame Street! Yes, the options for Dracula costumes literally go on forever!

Then there is the Dracula costume's close cousin. One of the most enduring of all the cinematic monsters is, of course, the Frankenstein Monster. Part of the reason for this is that the pathos of the creature makes him tragic and compelling. He is also one of the most recognisable monsters in history and that makes him perfect foil for Halloween masks. And, like Dracula, there are a multitude of Frankenstein costumes that range from the humorous to the downright scary. So, no matter what look you are going for there is a Frankenstein costume that will fit your needs.

The Wolfman remains one of the odder Halloween costumes. Even though the classic cinematic werewolf has his fans, Wolfman style Halloween masks have not always been supremely popular. One of the main reasons for this is the misconceptions people have about werewolf costumes. The two most common misconceptions about werewolf costumes are they are incredibly expensive and too hot to wear. In the past, it was true that werewolf costumes were incredibly expensive due to the painstaking skill required to weave all the hair into the fabric. However, thanks to the advent of modern technology the process for weaving the masks has made the prices come down. Plus, the costumes are designed for better ventilation and comfort so overheating really should not be a problem.

Of course, there are other classic monsters that can be tapped for Halloween masks such as The Mummy, The Phantom of the Opera, The Creature from the Black Lagoon and many others. What do they all have in common? They never really go out of style and they are all downright cool.

Customer Review: Very satisfied - so cute ...
Great buy. We always hear compliments when my son uses it - very cute and not uncomfortable at all.

Are you ready for a change this Thanksgiving? Tired of the same roast turkey? Looking for some new Thanksgiving menu ideas? I was. It was time for me to cook something different, and give the family some new taste treats. Sure, we'd still have turkey, but maybe instead of a 15 lb. bird we'd have a turkey breast. I'd still make their favorite Apple, Sage and Sausage Stuffing on the side, and I would still make Madeira gray. The question was what new item to add to my Thanksgiving menu?

I decided on a ham. A beautiful Pineapple Glazed Ham like mom used to make. Studded with whole cloves, brushed with a sticky yummy glaze of brown sugar, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, ginger and garlic and decorated with pineapple rings and maraschino cherries. With the addition of a 5-6 lb. ham to my Thanksgiving dinner that meant that I could serve much less turkey and still have plenty for everyone to eat.

This new addition to my Thanksgiving recipes also meant I'd want to cook homemade biscuits so everyone would be able to make a ham sandwich. It also meant that my new recipe for Tangy Cranberry Apple Chutney would be a perfect accompaniment for the ham biscuit sandwiches.

I decided to add another new dish to my Thanksgiving dinner menu, a classic Chestnut Stuffing. I found a recipe in my mother's old cookbook. It would be a new experience making a Chestnut Puree from fresh chestnuts, but it was an easy Thanksgiving recipe. Once the Chestnut Puree was made it was added to very simple ingredients, bacon, bread crumbs, parsley, salt and pepper, lemon rind, salt and pepper and a beaten egg.

Along with new Thanksgiving dinner recipes I'd cook my tried and true family favorites. One of these is a simple Campbell's Green Bean Casserole. Some gourmet cooks may turn their noses up, but our family looks forward to it every year. I have a recipe for Cook's Illustrated Green Bean Casserole, but it seems too much to undertake when the family likes the Campbell's holiday bean casserole so much.

I am also going to have my family prepare dishes for our dinner. This year I'm going to share my Thanksgiving Recipes with them. I'll have them bring vegetable side-dishes and holiday desserts. It's always helpful when family and friends each bring one dish for dinner.

Excite your family and friends this year with new Thanksgiving dinner ideas.

Men's Butler Costume by Coquette

This butler is a charmer, so ladies beware. In his lycra long sleeved shirt with attached velvet vest, bow tie, lycra pants and gloves, he's dressed to impress. Turn on your charms this Halloween in this Butler Costume. Size small/medium fits 34-40" chest and large/Xlarge fits 40-46" chest.

As Halloween approaches, many of us have some party or Halloween event to go to. Since it's only once a year, don't you want to make it exciting by choosing a great costume? If you are still searching for the right one, here are some creative ideas that have been growing in popularity.

  1. Sarah Palin - With the upcoming elections and the famous SNL skit with Tina Fey, Sarah Palin has become a fashion spectacle. From her hair to the famous glasses, more and more people have been seeking the Palin look. If you're looking to make that Sarah Palin transition, there are relatively cheap ways you can pull it off. Get yourself a light brown wig unless you already have similar hair color. The wig should run you about $30 to $45 and you should be able to style it to match one of her famous styles. No need to get the real hair as it will cost you a pretty penny and if this is just for a couple nights, why bother. Get yourself a pair of rimless glasses. Palin's are designed by Kazuo Kawasaki and distributed by a Los Angeles based Optical distributor, Italee Optics. They range anywhere between $200 to $400%2B. So unless you're looking to change your prescription glass frame, you can go with a cheap knock off. Finally, choose a business suit, pants or skirt and you're good to go.
  2. John McCain - Another popular costume due to the upcoming elections is John McCain. This is very simple to pull off since all you need is a suit and a McCain mask.
  3. Barack Obama - And another popular costume. Similar to the McCain costume, just wear a suit and the mask and you're set.
  4. Flavor Flav - As much as this guy annoys me, his costume has grown in popularity with teenagers and some adults. The clock, Viking helmet, and sun glasses come in one kit that's about $15. The outfit is sold separately for about $40 to $50.
  5. Batman, Joker - The Dark Knight costumes have grown in popularity with kids and adults. There are different versions of the costumes ranging from the simple costume to the more expensive, more defined and durable costumes. Take a look for yourselves and you'll be able to see the obvious differences. Overall, all versions of the costumes are good and if you're like me, you'll only be wearing this a couple of times this year so no point in spending a fortune.

Halloween is a time to get creative and have some fun! Go to http://www.helpfulhalloweentips.com for some fun tips on costumes, decorations, and more!

Customer Review: Cute but poor quality
This costume is really cute, fits well, and looks good from a distance but the quatity of fabric used is terrible. The cape comes unfinished... the edges aren't serged or anything so the fabric will fray quickly and the skirt part is made from see-through wind breaker type fabric, which is completely inappropriate for a skirt. The top part of the costume isn't bad. In order to make the costume wearable I've made a new skirt out of better fabric ($1.49 per metre) using the original skirt as a pattern and finished the edges all around the cape and added a tie (because there wasn't one before). So after about 3 hours of sewing and $4 in new fabric the costume is a million times better.

Everyone loves to dress up. Whether it be for a party, a school production or indeed to celebrate a special date such a Halloween or Christmas.

Fancy dress parties really are alive and kicking in the UK and all across Europe. Adults just love to dress up as Bunny Rabbits, Gorillas, or indeed take the opportunity to be a cow boy or cow girl for the day. Fancy dress costumes can be hard to get hold of. Although you can find the odd retail shop dotted around, by far the best place to get hold of fancy dress costumes is an online store. Many people want to 'try before they buy', but product selection and design improvements have helped online retailers overcome this with 'one size' costumes which generally fit well between sizes ten and 14 for ladies.

Many party goers like to go dressed in complementary costumes, which really adds to the fun. An Indian man looks much more the part with his apache wife on his arm!

Festivals and holidays also provide a great opportunity to dress up. Bunny Rabbits abound at Easter, all manner of things abound at Halloween and course lets not forget dear old Santa.
School productions can be both fun and inspiring for adults and children alike. Many costumes now come well within a parent's budget. Take for instance this Child Goddess Costume selling online for well under ten pounds. Some school productions in particular prefer to make their own costumes since it adds to the original nature of the performance. One way of making a costume look really professional is too purchase a rubber mask. These masks come in all shapes and sizes these days and can be a handy addition to any costume or indeed used in isolation.

Have you ever thought what you would have done without your Mother? Then why is it Mom's are usually the low woman on the totem pole? God thought enough of us to give us an earthly Guardian Angel and so many times, more than we could truthfully
count this is the person we lash out at the most with the excuse it's OK it's only Mom. Thinking of the old clich "we always hurt the one we the love the most" truly believing
that all is forgiven... Mom's tough she can handle it... Mom knows deep down that I really don't mean it... well, Mom's don't know that.

I am following my guidance in the writing of this article because Mom's need to be exalted...not trodden upon. Remember what I stated previously... God loves us enough that we are personally given an earthly Guardian Angel. Think about this for a moment... allow the monumental impact of that statement to sink in and all that encompasses. The one person that will always love you no matter what.

As we get older we don't think
we need Mom quite as much as we did before and sometimes we think we don't need her input at all... What does she know? She's behind the times. If the truth be known and we really take the time to look at it... Mom still knows pretty much more than we do. She is the crone that has gone before us ... experienced pretty much what we are going through now ourselves. Grant you times have changed and many Mom's have not faced the extreme challenges that so many of the younger generation is facing now ... like drugs, the extreme
peer pressure of joining a gang ...male or female, but all the same the challenges were pretty much the same when she was growing up only in another format ...drinking, smoking, sex,
guarding your reputation and with a lot more condemnation than is going on in 2005.

What I am trying to get across here is... Mom has lots of knowledge and lots experience for you to
tap into and to honor.

Mother's day is coming up May 8th. and what will you do for your Mother ? Will you remember to pick up the telephone to make the long distance telephone call to Mom who is now 3,000 miles away or lives just around the block that you haven't seen or talked to in several weeks? Will you remember to order, purchase or make a special gift for her ? To send her a Mother's Day card that isn't an e-mail ? ... to just let her know how special she is to you ... loved, honored and respected ...

Remember ...

God loves us enough that we are personally given an earthly Guardian Angel...

'Mom'

One of God's greatest gifts to us.

Street Fighter Akuma Adult Costume

Includes: Pants, shirt, belt, gloves, and necklace. Wig not included. This is an officially licensed Street Fighter costume.
Customer Review: I am very Happy with this Item
It is a very nice item. The one thing I didn't like about it is that the wig did not come with the costume. Other than that is a very cool costume.

Big shopping days are the Friday after Thanksgiving, the day after Christmas, and New Years Day.

New Years Day is the day that women get even with their husbands for watching a zillion football games. They spend and spend and spend.

The problem with all of these days and all the days between Thanksgiving and Christmas is that there are a zillion customers in the stores. To get there they cram the streets with their cars. The clerks are working themselves to death. When they get home at night they say, Oh, my feet! My feet!

The best day to do Christmas shopping is the day that the stores are full of new Christmas merchandize that has not been picked over.

There is a plethora of clerks a smiling.

The clerks joke with you, help you find the right set of earrings for each of your twenty-three granddaughters, binoculars for your nine grandsons, a stuffed lion for your great granddaughter, books for your kids and their spouses, and then the clerks say, Have a nice Thanksgiving! Can we help you to the car?

Now you have guessed the day, havent you?

How many said, "Christmas Eve just before the stores close when the stores panic if they have too much leftover merchandise. They cut their prices and you buy, buy, buy!

If you are not poor, you are wrong. Now days, the stores have to cut their prices much earlier to compete with Target and Wal-mart.

The best day to shop is the day before Thanksgiving.

Stay-at-home moms are all baking pies.

Working moms are heading straight for the grocery store at noon and after work.

Nobody goes shopping that day but my wife and I and a few little old ladies who have "caught on."

We went shopping this morning and were home by 3:30 p.m. That was after I had the salmon at the Sizzler and my wife her usual salad bar. I had a salad bar too.

When we got to the Sizzler, I was starved from shopping for our five children, their spouses, our 32 grandchildren, including two new spouses, and our great grandchild that still says, Goo, Goo! (Our triplets still say, Goo, Goo! too.)

I started with a bowl of clam chowder, then salad, then the salmon, then the ice cream. Yum! Yum!

Back in our home town exhausted by the metropolis of Twin Falls with its thousands of people, I laid down on the bed to get the kink out of my back that I always get when shopping.

When I woke up, I had missed Jeopardy.

Thats when I decided that I had to get the presents under-wrapped (that is in the wrapping under the pretty stuff. I made up the word. Go ahead and use it).

I needed to write the name of the child, grandchild, or great grandchild on the inner wrapping or my wife might send a wrong present to a wrong person in a wrong state!

She didnt want to, but she gave me a hand.

Now Im sure that we will be sending a wrong present to a wrong person in a wrong state.

But we have plenty of time to do it!

Shop early!

Be of good cheer!

Damn the torpedoes, Full Speed Ahead!

It's your puppy or dog, why not include him/her in on all the fun. Dressing up your dog in a Halloween costume is not only fun but can be a conversation starter and a way to meet new friends. There are hundreds if not thousands of unique dog costumes.

One of them that come to mind is the "hotdog costume", this costume has been around for awhile but it is still a favourite among dog owners. Something that I suggest you do is get your costumes for your dogs early.

The reason for I say this is because if you wait until the night or day of your Halloween event your dog might not enjoy that he/she has a dinosaur wrapped around their body. Give them plenty of time to adjust to the costume and you will have an evening filled with fun and maybe some new friends. Another suggestion is while your dog has it's costume on either keep them on a leash or keep a very close eye on them.

The Halloween costumes for dogs can be bulky and with the weather being cooler that means fireplaces, portable heaters are on. It would be very easy for your dog to get the costume close enough to catch it on fire. If it happens to be hot outside the day of your Halloween event don't forget to bring along water for your dog, some Halloween costumes will trap heat and overheat your dog. I hope these little tid bits of information was helpful and everyone has a wonderful 2008 Halloween season.

There's nothing worse than putting away all of the holiday decorations, settling in to enjoy the rest of the winter season and then being hit with the credit card bills. Could there be a worse way to start out a brand new year than under a mound of growing debt? Don't let that happen to yourself this year and realize that there are several easy and creative ways to save money and still have the best Christmas ever.

Making Edible Gifts

Gift giving shouldn't be about the amount spent or who gets the "best" gift but rather as a way to say you care, that you're thinking of someone, and how much they mean to you. Making homemade gifts, especially the edible variety, are usually greatly appreciated. Along with any type of cookies, which you can never go wrong with, there are plenty of other things to make that can be packaged nicely and presented to someone as a Christmas gift.

Here are a few more ideas to consider for making edible gifts:

- Brownies
- Cakes
- Flavored butter
- Fudge
- Homemade bread
- Jelly
- Muffins
- Peanut brittle

Start a Christmas Club

Many small banks and financial institutions still have the familiar Christmas club savings account that you can open in January, or anytime you like really, and add to it over the course of the year. This way come December, you won't be in a panic and wondering how you're going to afford everything.

If your bank doesn't offer this type of savings club, simply open a regular savings account and pass on getting a bank card to go with it so you won't be tempted to use the ATM machine to withdraw cash before the holidays draw near.

Use Cash For Christmas Shopping

Falling into the credit card trap is incredibly easy to do, and even more so during the holidays. While it may seem like a good idea at the time, you'll be sorry in January if you use plastic to pay for all of your holiday gifts, and for the next several months as well as you'll also be paying hefty interest fees for a while to come.

Think of other creative ways to save cash throughout the year that you'll be able to use for Christmas presents. Save all of your spare change in a jar and every November, empty it out and roll all of the coins you've collected. Start another jar or an envelope and every time you use a coupon, put the amount you've saved from using the coupon into the container to keep during the year until the holidays arrive.

Yet another idea to save money at Christmas time is to start making your shopping list at the beginning of the year instead of in early December. Remember to include people like babysitters, teachers, bosses, the person who delivers your newspaper, the mailman, and of course, your relatives and friends. This way you won't have any surprises and need to find gifts at the very last minute.

Be sure to visit xmas-ornament.com for your Christmas outdoor decor and ornament Christmas ideas.

Adult Womens Halloween Costumes Storybook Wizard of Oz Dorothy Costume Dress Theme Party Outfit

You're off to see the Wizard in this cute Dorothy costume!

This Item Includes Skirt, Blouse, Headbows

{{CharadesWomensSizes}}

There's no reason to overspend on Halloween costumes if you plan ahead. Here are tips for saving money at Halloween:

1. Prepare for next year - of course it's too late now, but check Halloween stores and local drugstores the day after Halloween and stock up on accessories that don't go out of style like face makeup, vampire teeth, and cobweb netting. The discounts are often as much as 90%. Garage sales also net very, very cheap Halloween costumes if you're willing to grab them when you see them.

2. Start early - It is easy to sometimes make your own, but never a good idea to start looking for good budget ideas on October 30th.

3. Look for ideas that don't tie to specific characters. It's hard to make something look like a real good knock-off of Mickey Mouse.

4. Try community sites for previously used Halloween outfits, especially in kids' sizes.

5. Involve your child - ask them what they want to be and use items your kids are already interested in. If you have football or soccer outfits, use them. This is simple and might be easier to sell to your child rather than trying to imitate what they have seen on TV.

6. Take a trip to thrift store and consider these favorites:

Old prom dresses, along with blood for a "Carrie" costume, or for Beauty Pageant misfits
Bridal gowns for "Bride of Frankenstein" or cut down as princess dresses
Old tuxedos for crazy French waiters
Retro outfits

7. Consider these cheap and easy costumes:

Wrap a sheet and you have a mummy or a toga costume
Safety pin odd clothing items to a single colored ensemble and go as "static cling."
Wrap a red blanket around a child, put on a big cross or other medallion and go as a medieval crusader
Eye patch, red turtleneck, blue jeans and a red bandana for a pirate
Attach Smarties to your child's pants with packing tape to create a "smartie(s) pants" costume (familyfun.com idea)

8. Consult websites for ideas. Two of our favorites are:

coolest-homemade-costumes.com - idea sharing site
familyfun.com (even a category for last minute ideas)

There are plenty of ideas without the need for a glue gun or sewing machine. Even if you feel you aren't very creative, the websites listed above have lots of ideas of things you can put together mostly using items you have at home.

Halloween doesn't have to be expensive and can be a lot of fun, probably more so, if you use a little imagination rather than buying something off the rack at the store. Put on your creative hat and get cracking because here is an easy method for creating homemade Halloween masks for your little trick-or-treater.

Halloween Invitations for Your Scary Halloween Party!

As children, most of us fondly remember dressing up in scary costumes and going door to door begging for candy. We didn't really worry about party Halloween Invitations then because we had plenty to keep us occupied as we strolled through the neighborhood and snacked on our haul of treats. Today, more families are looking for safe alternatives to trick or treating. Sending out costume cards and planning some great Halloween ideas for kids can be a way to still make the holiday fun. Here are some possible games you might want to include in your post-Halloween invite plans.

Green Apple Finding & Halloween Invitations

To play this Halloween game, you'll need a dozen red apples and one green apple, plus some string and a tree. Fix the apples so they can be hung from the branches of the tree. Now you'll blindfold each of the kids one at a time, spin them around a few times and send each of them to pick an apple from the tree. Repeat the process until each of the kids has their own apple. The Halloween party invitation recipient who finds the green apple wins a prize. Since this is Halloween, candy is always a good choice. You could also give a caramel or candy apple as a Halloween prize.

Become the Mummy & Halloween Stationary

This can be a fun game for all ages. If you're working with younger kids, you might want to divide the group into pairs and pass out only one roll of toilet paper to each set. With older children, you should consider diving them into groups of three and giving each group two rolls of toilet paper. The idea is to wrap one of the team members like a mummy using all of the toilet paper. Whichever team uses all of their paper first is the winner. The game is fun but also requires teamwork so it's useful in many ways. You might even want to send out Halloween cards or custom Holiday Invitations with a mummy theme if you like the idea of making this game a focal point of your event.

Digging Through the Dirt & Personalized Halloween Party Invitations

Send Halloween Invitations Cards to younger kids who won't be self-conscious about getting dirty and making fools of themselves in front of their friends if you want to play this game. First, you'll want to make a good load of "dirt" which is really just crushed chocolate sandwich cookies. Generic cookies are a good choice since taste is going to matter and you'll want to get several bags. Plus, you'll want to load up on the whipped cream. If you can make your own, that's a good way to save money. Next, purchase a supply of gummy worms. Divide up the "dirt" and whipped topping mixture evenly for each guest and add the same number of gummy worms to each. Have the kids dig through the crushed cookies to find all of the worms without using their hands. It's definitely not a scary Halloween game!

Trying any or all of these games is a great way to make your guests happy they responded to your unique Halloween party invitations and printed Holiday Invitations.

Halloween has changed dramatically over the years. Originally a Celtic celebration of the New Year, it has transformed into a holiday with evil connotations. Many equate the once benevolent celebration of community into a celebration of evil or devil-worship.

It is for this reason that many religious people question whether they should celebrate the holiday. While it is not wise to generalize and assume ones opinion by that expressed by the whole as a group, let us take a look at each religions viewpoint on Halloween.

(Not all followers of each faith prescribe to the opinions listed, but these are general findings of the opinion of each religion. Also, this is a limited selection of the vast amounts of religions found throughout the world. Many religions have little to no connection with the holiday at all.)

Islam:

The devout followers of Islam do not celebrate Halloween for it is forbidden in the Quran to celebrate non-Muslim holidays. A quote from Islam.com further elaborates, . . . Moreover, it symbolizes the beginning of the ancient Druid new year, who hold that the dead revisit their homes at that time, thus in essence, Halloween represents the devil worshipper's New Year's celebration.

From an Islamic standpoint, Halloween is one of the worst celebrations, due to its origins in Paganism. It is clearly forbidden for a Muslim to participate in a Halloween celebration.

Judaism:

Those of the Jewish faith do not celebrate Halloween for the same reason Muslims do not it is forbidden in their faith to celebrate a non-Jewish holiday. Halloweens Celtic roots and Christian connection (All Saints Day), Jews do not consider it to be a non-sectarian holiday.

However, Jews do celebrate a holiday that is similar in festivities. The holiday is Purim, and it commemorates a time when Jewish people living in Persia were saved from extermination. The celebration of this holiday involves costumes and candy.

Christianity:

Christians range in opinion on this topic, from evangelists who condemn anything to do with the religion, to those who welcome it as a chance to spread messages of faith to trick or treaters, and also to those who infer the holiday was started by Christians.

Most devout Christians forbid celebration of Halloween, due to the belief that its origin comes from Paganism and devil-worship.

Some Christians believe the holiday as Christian roots, in reference to All Hallows Eve or Feast of All Saints which occurs on November 1st and celebrates the dead in heaven and purgatory. It became customary on All Hallows Eve to bang pots and pans together to let the dead know the damned know they were not forgotten.

Satanists:

Religious Satanists do not assign any significance to Halloween. The holiday is NOT Satanic in origin, and Satanists certainly do not practice any sort of sacrifice on Halloween (nor is animal sacrifice an accepted practice of any organized Satanic group).

Wiccans:

For Wiccans, Halloween represents the New Year, a time of reflection and celebration. New life is welcomed while the dead are remembered. It is believed that the veil between the spiritual and material worlds is the thinnest at this time of year.

Halloween is one of the eight Sabbats (or seasonal holidays) celebrated by Wiccans. Samhain, as Wiccans refer to it, symbolizes the transition or death of the elderly Great Horn God (not to be confused with the Christian idea of Satan), the male energy of the Divine. It also celebrates the aging Goddess, the female energy of the Divine.

Buddhism:

The Celtic priests, or Druids, who originally celebrated the holiday shared the Buddhists belief in rebirth, and in the indestructibility of the mind. There are correspondences between the traditional Celtic celebration of Halloween and the Buddhist concept of Bardo.

Halloween symbolizes the entry of the separated spirit from the spiritual world into the material world. Bardo is the concept of the consciousness experiencing apparitions (ghosts, demons, etc.). If the mind recognizes these apparitions as false hallucinations, liberation is possible.

Religious stances range from support and celebration to ignorance and condemnation and anywhere in between when it comes to Halloween. In the end, it is up to the individual and their personal beliefs and feelings.

Toddler Cute Cow Halloween Costume (2-4T)

Customer Review: Thin but still cute
I bought this for my 2, almost three, year old daughter last year for Halloween. It was a bit cheaply made for the price and for what I was expecting. The material is very thin, almost papery. It is cute, though! She looked cute and only wore it a couple times. If you are looking for something to hold up to dress up play I wouldn't count on it and for a Halloween costume it is a bit expensive. She was in a size 4T at the time (moved into a 5 two months later) and it fit fine except it was a little short.

If you were to ask what is meant by a Halloween adult costumes, most would respond it is a costume that comes in a size appropriate for an adult. Well, on a baseline level, that is accurate assessment. But, it is not a completely accurate assessment. There is a lot more to an adult Halloween costume than just providing a proper fit. The look, the material and the originality of the design often play a huge role in making the costume special.

During the weeks prior to Halloween, consumers will notice many retail store shelves filled with children's costumes and novelties. While many of these little get ups are fine for the young ones, simply making them a larger size would not necessarily make a decent adult costume. A costume designed for a nine year old simply does not translate well for an adult because Halloween adult costumes require more sophistication.

For example, a child's witch costume is little more than a few low cost accessories slapped together. A hat, wig, cape, and, perhaps, a funny nose is really all that is required for a children's version of the costume. For adults, however, such a simplistic design really would not cut it. Adults are not wearing their costume to go trick or treating. They are wearing the costume to attend a party or, possibly, to appear on stage wearing it. Either way, the costume has to look convincing and properly designed. After all, you wouldn't attend a formal party in wrinkled casual wear. So, why would you try and make a good impression on others wearing a very cheap Halloween adult costume? You can't and you shouldn't, particularly when there are so many excellent adult Halloween costumes available.

Again, Halloween adult costumes will not be made out of cheap material. Often, the actual material used in the making of the costume will possess an almost elegant quality. Additionally, the costume will be built to withstand wear and tear. This will be important if you are wearing the costume on stage or for theatrical use. Costumes that would be easily torn would be a major negative in such a scenario.

Additionally, Halloween adult costumes will be produced with fine attention to detail. A wig and a mask will not cut it when one needs a quality costume. This is why all costumes of high quality pay particular attention to detail. Masks, in particular, take on a unique aesthetic dimension when attention to detail is present. When you look at the facial features of a Dracula mask, a werewolf mask, a mad scientist mask, etc you will notice a great deal of work goes into making the mask come alive. This brings out the personality of the creature in the form of pathos, fear, horror, etc. This truly makes the character come alive. Once again, when you dress up for Halloween you want to look impressive. A properly made and expertly designed adult Halloween costume can most definitely deliver in this regard.

As one can see, there is much more to Halloween adult costumes than merely expanding the size. When properly crafted, an adult Halloween costume literally rises to the level of a work of art. Now, doesn't that sound like an exciting costume to wear?

What is it that causes the holiday letdown and feeling of sadness? It seems that our hyperactive consumer society, will we go from one holiday to the next never having a chance to actually enjoy a reflect upon the reasons we have that holiday time set aside.

Back in our minds we must hold onto some part of what we understood a holiday to be. This is especially true of the major holidays like New Year's, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

It's interesting that the largest number of divorces are filed in January. Although there are many theories why the number of divorces jump in January, two things come readily to mind.

1. With the new year comes hope for changes and something better. Forget about the reality that resolutions and promises made to yourself never seen to come to fruition. The idea of making a new start is appealing for many. If you're having problems or challenges in your marriage or personal relationship, it's not too far a stretch to want to make a new start there are also. This could explain the spike in divorce filings in January.

2. Another thought is a depression caused by unfulfilled expectations by the holiday season. We have Thanksgiving, Christmas then New Year's all within 60 days and all been considered major holidays for many.

Although we hope for a close-knit family gathering at Thanksgiving, the reality can be quite different. And who hasn't heard of the major fights and verbal altercations among family members during the Christmas season. Are all these problems caused by our underlying attempt to recapture the meaning of these holidays?

With the reality that Christmas is no longer family, friends, or excitement but has been reduced to a generic buying opportunity by society, does this also cost a mental disturbance in our thoughts and memories?

If this is possible, the disappointment and recognition of what the holidays have become may contribute to an almost melancholy if not depression like state. I realize that there are those who may not understand this situation. The pervasive nature of our society can change the perspective of almost anyone.

The same can be said for almost any holiday period throughout the year. July 4, Independence Day has become more of a beer drinking wiener roasting extra day off than a day to reflect on the blessings and freedoms given to us by the creation of our country.

Thoughtful Americans may struggle with the ongoing push for ever-increasing sales by tying consumer special events to any holiday. This struggle may lead to depression and general sadness.

Depression is a very serious mental condition that can result in an ongoing sadness that seems almost uncontrollable. If you think you may be suffering from depression, it's important to seek help as soon as possible. Although not proven, many believe that depression is a chronic illness that will continue to deepen and worsen without proper care and treatment.

Abigail Franks writes on a variety of subjects which include family, health, and home. For more information on depression and ways to help visit the site at http://www.anxietyhelpcenter.info/ or http://www.anxietyhelpcenter.info/depression/depression.html

Star Wars Animated Deluxe Plo Koon Child Costume

Includes: Tunic, pants with attached boot tops, mask and belt. Lightsaber not included. This is an officially licensed Star Wars costume.

With all of the retail outlets displaying holidays decorations a month or more before the holiday, its sometimes difficult to get into the spirit of the season by the time it arrives. This is especially true of those who work in retail outlets because by the time you look at holiday decorations all day long, by the time the holiday arrives, youre tired of looking at the decorations and would prefer if it just passed right by you.

Avoiding decorating may be a solution to some of the holidays, but its difficult to avoid Christmas and Halloween, especially if you have young children. Easter the children are content with an Easter basket full of candy and/or toys, and some may not even care much about Halloween decorations as long as they have their costumes and Trick or Treat bags, but Christmas is just not the same without decorations throughout the home.

What do you do when you just cant get into the mood to decorate? What can you do to build the momentum and get into the spirit of the season? When it comes to Christmas, one thing that tends to put people in the mood is seeing decorations in homes and businesses. This does mean the decorations that stores put on display for sale, but the decorations that are delicately placed by homeowners, tenants, or business staff. Another momentum builder is visiting holiday villages such as Bethlehem, Pennsylvanias Christmas Village with all of the many displays, many showing decorating ideas that have been used for centuries. Taking a walk through holiday villages such as this one with the lights shining, decorations displayed for viewing, and the sound of music radiating through the air is enough to make one feel the spirit begin to engulf them. Even better when it comes to Christmas is to see the snow falling upon the beautifully decorated trees and glistening among the many brightly lit holiday decorations.

Real nice set, very spookie and larger than life. I danced all night in this mask and was able to breathe fine. The realistic teeth is a nice touch. Recommended.

Sexy 3Pc Raspberry Girl Peasant Top Halloween Costume

3Pc. Rasberry Girl Costume Include Bonnet, Dress With Applique & Stockings

This is the third part of creating the ultimate Halloween Graveyard Scheme and should be read in conjunction with 'Create a Halloween Graveyard' and 'Lighting Your Halloween Graveyard'.

Have you noticed that all of the great atmospheric film scenes all involved fog or swirling mist from which the evil came to do it's terrible deed and thence into which it disappeared without a trace - hey, that's not bad, maybe I will write that novel one day!

Swirling menacing fog, graveyards, Halloween, eerie scenes; they all seem to go together well. Even the best graveyard scene will be enhanced by the addition of a layer of menacing fog floating in swirls over the surface of the ground and creeping around the gravestones. And through that layer of fog all kinds of demons and ghouls can rise. Stop it this instant, this is meant to be an article on using fog in a graveyard scene not something out of a penny dreadful.

Adding fog to your Halloween scene, whether indoors or out will definitely provide an additional lift to the atmosphere and what could be better than creating an environment where any trick or treaters have to walk through a gently swirling fog. A fog machine is therefore an absolute must for the true Halloween fan.

There are a number of fog machines readily available from high street stores at sensible prices. More specialist units producing a more consistent flow of fog in a denser form are available and for these it's best to search the web or find a theatrical or audio-visual supplier. These bigger units can sometimes be hired from discotheque suppliers and a quick check of Yellow Pages is all that is required. If you are planning to use fog effects within your Halloween scene it should be as part of an integrated scheme including prop positioning and lighting. Again, your entire plan should be committed to paper early on. Using fog makes this process critical as failing to understand the prevailing airflow could result in your entire fog bank blowing in the wrong direction.

Another key consideration when planning the use of in a Halloween scene or at your party is that all of the machines available work by heating the mixture as part of the process. This has the unfortunate effect of causing the produced 'hot' fog to rise and disperse in the air rather than stick to and drift menacingly over the ground. This fog dispersment into the air occurs more rapidly the colder the temperature into which the fog is released; so if you are producing fog outside during a cold evening, it rise even more quickly.

Okay; we've spotted the problem; hot fog, chilly night result, waste of time and energy. So, how do we stick your fog to the ground? The simple answer is to cool the fog before it gets into the atmosphere and escapes. There are many designs on the web for these 'fog chillers' but in essence they all operate in the same way. The produced fog is passed over a cooling medium before it leaves the final dispersment pipe and into the atmosphere.

To make one you will need an insulated container; think old thermal picnic box, painted black or dark grey or camouflaged to blend in with its positioning. Into one side you need to cut an entry point the diameter of the pipe that will lead from the fog machine to the chiller, shortest distance is best. This pipe is sealed airtight at both the fog machine and chiller - you may want to use a junction pipe through the wall of the box to ensure it's airtight.

In the opposite side you need to cut a hole to take the chilled fog away. This also needs to be airtight and will be the pipe that is located where you want the fog to appear - say behind a gravestone or from beneath a tree trunk. Fill the bottom of the chiller with ice and allow the produced fog to flow through the chiller. If the fog still rises, you may need to fit long baffles in your chiller to make the fog travel further over the ice. These baffles, stiff plastic (multi-use) or wood (more inclined to rot) need to be slightly shorter that the box and should be inserted so that the fog has to follow their path. As with all Halloween scenes, a good dress rehearsal is vital so that you know that the unit will work during the evening and how the coolness of the air affects the look.

Although it sounds difficult, the device is simple to understand and becomes clear when you layout the required parts. A fog machine is a worthwhile investment for a number of party occasions but it will come into its own when used to enhance your own graveyard scene or Halloween party. Once you have the bug, and have mastered the art of the making a fog chiller, you may want to purchase additional features like electronic timing mechanisms or even more machines.

Roman Hunk Gladiator Halloween Costume

Roman Hunk Gladiator halloween costume. Standard - Fits Up to Men's Size 44. Includes: Collar & Kilt w/Shoulder Strap. Sandals NOT included

So you don't sew? Say it isn't "sew"! That's OK because here are some great ideas for simple children's Halloween costumes that you can create quickly and easily for the trick or treaters in your life!

JACK IN THE BEANSTOCK

Find (around the house) or purchase a large green T-shirt. Go outside and cut off a piece of trailing or climbing vine in your yard. (If you don't have a live plant that you can use then use an artificial plant.) Safety pin the vine diagonally to the front of the T-shirt. Have your child wear white or green tights and a pair of shorts over the tights. Make a hat out of newspaper. There you have it... a costume right out of a storybook!

FIT FOR A QUEEN...OR A PRINCESS

Look for a dress around your house, like an old prom dress or a dress made of fancy fabric. You will need a dress that you can use for a dress up because you will be gluing things on it. Create a cute costume using the following ideas:

1. Add a sash made of ribbon or netting...take a tuck here and a tuck there with safety pins if you need to.
2. Hot glue(if the dress can be used later for a dress up)sequins, beads, ribbon roses, artificial roses, bows,or other decorative trims to the costume.
3. Find some fun play shoes and make them sparkle with glitter or rhinestones.
4. Fashion a crown out of hot pink poster paper. Measure your child's head. Cut a strip of paper as tall as you want the crown to be. Then cut along the top edge of your strip of paper with decorative scrapbooking scissors. Place the crown on newspaper so it lays flat. Then spray with spray on glue and sprinkle generously with glitter. Let it dry. Staple the ends or hot glue the ends together. You can add rhinestones to finish off the crown if you like. Very cute! You can safety pin a train made of white bridal tulle or netting if you like to the back of the dress at the waist or the shoulders. Add a wand handmade or store bought and your child will feel like royalty in her one of a kind designed by mom gown, shoes, and crown!

CHRISTMAS SHEPHERD

This child's costume can do double duty as you can use it for Halloween or Christmas! Borrow your husband's flannel shirt. Put this on your child (with warm comfortable clothes underneath such as sweats). Take a belt from a robe and tie it around their waist. Let the belt hang down on the side and adjust the shirt to fit so your child won't trip on the long shirt. You will need to have or borrow a baby towel with a hood on it and put it on their head. Tie a piece of fabric around their forehead on top of the hood of the towel. To finish off this child costume, have your child carry a staff get creative here! You can use stick of some kind or a plastic candy cane yard decoration. Buy or borrow a stuffed lamb for your child to carry under his or her arm. Very simple and very charming!

There are all the old costume standbys like cowboys, cowgirls, football or basketball players, a dog or a cat (with a little face paint, a tail, and warm pj's.) The list goes on and on! What about dressing up like a mom? Put an apron on your child, let them carry a purse, and some high heels (make sure they are shoes that the child can handle walking in!) Or do the flip side and dress your child up like a Dad. Have them wear a suit coat and carry a brief case!

Get going and create some fun children's Halloween costumes this year. Make it a Halloween your child will always remember!
